Antartica

Antarctica

Episode 1: “Antartique: au pays des albatros”
Episode 2: “Antartique: au pays des manchots”

Oceans are significantly more inhabited than one can imagine…
Besides fish and Cetaceans, the Artic Ocean accommodates a vast population of marine mammals and seabirds that send 85% of their lives out at sea. They rejoin the austral ice flows only once a year for a short period just enough time to lay down their progeny on terra firma. Their real home is located in the open sea, far from land. Alone or in groups, they cover large distances, sleeping out at sea between fishing. Some go from pole to pole, during their annual migration, others cover distances of 1500km to feed their young. All, sea elephants, eared seals, penguins or albatrosses are marine animals.
