Deep South
100 years ago, Adrien de Gerlache and his crew left Anvers on the Belgica’s board. Head for south. This Belgian polar expedition take over running of the southern lands and of the white big continent that crows the southern Hemisphere. In its holds, the Belgica brought all the logistic and scientific material needful to the most fantastic polar esperience of the previous century : for the first time in the poles discovery history, men will have wintered in the Antartic ices middle. Beside Commandant de Gerlache, a team of researchers whose biologist Racovitsa placed the knowledges basis of the southern pole. In 1998 the whole world will greet this human and scientific exploit. Deep South is devoted to the contemporary knowledge of the Antartic ecosystem in connection with the way paved by the researchers of the Gerlache’s expedition by the end of the previous century.
