Santa Lucia, Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. An archipelago in the Atlantic ocean off the coast of Morocco. With the Azores and Madeira, these islands are out on the periphery of the European Union. They are part of a regional regrouping known as Macaronesia.
In a strategy of regional development, the three archipelagos form part of a vast transnational project called Aquamac.
